Infographics

Infographics will always have a special place in my heart – I just love the combination of creative freedom and interesting information. I truly believe that information in a visual form is much more impactful and memorable than it would be in a paragraph of text or Excel spreadsheet, and this is why infographics continue to remain popular.

I have been fortunate enough to create infographics for a number of companies including ESL Languages, Malvern House and eHarmony. They continue to be a great marketing tool for companies who are trying to expand their influence in a subtle but still relevant way, so I continue to champion their research and creation in my in-house roles.

Buzzwords for the 21st Century

Part of the reason I love infographics is the knowledge I end up gaining just by working on them, especially when the topic is very obscure or fun, and this infographic I produced for Malvern House is a perfect example of such an occasion. Working with a limited colour pallete meant I had to depend on fun and quirky illustrations to make the infographic stand out, and I loved playing around with the typography and type hierachy.

The Anatomy of a Freelancer

The creation of this infographic for Vonage hit a bit close to home – I was a freelance designer producing a document listing both the good and bad side of being a freelancer! This design was a great combination of charts and illustration, the perfect combination in my mind.

The 50 Weirdest languages on the planet and beyond

I really enjoyed working on this weirdest languages infographic for ESL – it was both informative and humorous, and I tried to mirror that in its design. It contained a lot of text, but I chose to embrace its length and ensure I highlighted and illustrated as many of the languages as I could. A lot of research was required on my end to ensure I understood the context of each language, but it was a very fun project to work on.
